Service Overview

Fernside House is a 15-bed residential care home for men, located in Armley, Leeds.

We support people who have complex mental-health needs and require ongoing structured support in a community setting to maintain stability and build skills for independence. At Fernside House we focus on providing the right level of support at the right time so that each person can stay well, manage risk and achieve a meaningful and safe quality of life at their own pace.

Spacious, private bedrooms that can be personalised; one of the flats is fully accessible and adaptable for wheelchair users.

Spacious, therapeutic communal areas for relaxation, socialisation, and meals. Dedicated meeting rooms are available for one-on-one sessions, therapy, and care plan reviews.

A tranquil outdoor space for relaxation and engagement with nature. The horticultural area allows patients to participate in gardening activities, promoting physical and mental well-being.

Activities of Daily Living Therapeutic Kitchen

A fully equipped kitchen where residents can practice cooking and meal preparation, promoting practical life skills and self-sufficiency in a safe, supervised environment.

Real Work Opportunities

Residents are supported in finding and participating in real work opportunities, gaining valuable skills and experience while contributing to the unit. These roles, paid at the real living wage, provide patients with a sense of purpose and help develop vocational skills as part of their rehabilitation.
