Registered Manager

Sam Haigh

Sam Haigh is the Registered Manager at Fernside House in Leeds, a long-stay residential service for men with complex mental health needs. With six years at Active Pathways, Sam has led teams across supported living and residential care, opening Park Place (Active Pathways’ first supported living service in Leeds) in 2019 before managing both Park Place and Millcroft.

Sam’s career spans children’s services, young adults with additional needs, mental health and older people’s care. She brings a calm, practical leadership style focused on therapeutic, person-centred support, clear communication and consistent follow-through. Her priorities are simple and measurable: safe, well-run services; confident, well-supported teams; and steady progress for each person.

At Fernside House in Leeds, Sam will work closely with the therapeutic team to embed structured routines, positive risk-taking and meaningful activity. She champions co-production with residents and families, and partners with commissioners and clinicians to plan safe transitions and sustained outcomes in the community. Colleagues describe her as compassionate, respectful and outcomes-focused – creating a home that feels supportive, stable and genuinely hopeful.
