Meet the Heathy House Team
We’ve spent a lot of time looking for dedicated, hardworking staff, with a passion for working in the mental health sector. Our whole team comes with extensive experience and a wealth of knowledge, spanning the care industry. In addition to recruiting a team based on their care and support experience, we’ve embraced staff that are empathetic, friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic, as well as being from the local area. By hiring a local team of support workers, we’re able to ensure service users can create strong community links that we know aids and enhances recovery and rehabilitation.
Holly is a member of our Recovery Support Team, she is at the beginning of her career in mental health, and is already a dedicated supporter of #AndysManClub; a peer-to-peer support group for men. She’s chatted with the founders, and plans on inviting them to have a chat with our service users to encourage them to open up about their mental health struggles, and to invite them to a local support group. Holly’s enthusiasm and attitude to helping others is a great asset to any mental health recovery team.
Some members of our team have experience in supporting service users in different settings, for example Tommo one of our Senior Support Workers has previously worked in a high secure unit, supporting adults with challenging behaviours on a one-to-one basis. Tommo’s experience in such a high intensity location gives him skills in conflict resolution, de-escalation, creative and focussed activities and strong team skills that will be incredibly valued at Active Pathways.
Whilst most of our team have previously been employed by other care companies, Amira has spent the last few years working for an agency, allowing her to understand how other residential settings implement their care packages, what they did well, and what areas they can improve on. Active Pathways will be Amira’s first move away from agency work, something she’s avoided in the past as she’s not found a company that’s aligned with her values, however the culture of openness and support that she found when she interviewed at Heathy House made her feel that it was a place she could build a long term career.
